I am trying to unwrap a very simple clock I made and I am going through hell. ![]() I have searched the documentation and tutorials online but nothing seemed to adress my issue. But now even very simple pieces are ruined as soon as I try to relax them, so I have to toy around manually with vertices to fix the stretching on very simple parts. Unwrap Pro is a Max plugin by Marius Silaghi that unwraps meshes and produces low distortion, overlap free, weighted density UVs, providing a better result than the 3DS Max Peel command. I very rarely needed to toy with vertices manually to get a good result. You can also use it to unwrap and edit existing UVW coordinates on an object. It is easy to use (just select some UVs and hold down a button). ![]() It is very fast (a 1 million triangle mesh was unwrapped in 23 seconds). ![]() My usual workflow involved cutting my seams, making a quick planar or peel and using the relax tool to fix stretching. The Unwrap UVW modifier lets you assign mapping (texture) coordinates to objects and sub-object selections, and to edit those coordinates by hand as well as with a variety of tools. Unwrap Pro is a 3ds Max plugin which unwraps meshes while producing low distortion, overlap free, weighted density UVs unlike the 3ds Max Peel command which produces overlapping UVs with high area distortion. I've been unwrapping models just fine for a long time. ![]() I kept working on my projects, buisness as usual, until came the time to unwrap the UVs of my models. I had been using 3ds Max 2016 forever and when my license expired I had to renew it and switch to 2019. Long story short, I have been 3D modeling as a student for 3 years.
